Fairview violin shop gets a music mural makeover
Some may call it a symphony for the eyes.
Petr’s Violin Shop and Guitar Center of Anchorage unveiled a new mural on Saturday. The artwork is supposed to celebrate the emotions music inspires, says the shop’s owner Petr Bucinsky.
“When one person puts up a mural like this, it elevates the spirit,” he said. “And maybe another business will look at it and say, hey maybe we can do something with our business to elevate the neighborhood.”
The Fairview violin shop has been a part of Alaska’s music community for more than 40 years. Bucinsky says he hopes for a chain reaction to the artwork, which was painted by local artist and Alaska Pacific University professor Tracey Pilch.
Pilch also painted the wildlife mural at the Kobuk Coffee Company in downtown Anchorage.
