I joined the KTVA weather team in the early 1990s serving as a full time chief meteorologist, morning meteorologist and weekend meteorologist. I am now the team’s fill-in meteorologist.
My coverage of weather spans over 20 years and four states including Alaska, Texas, Alabama and New Mexico. In addition to KTVA, I’ve covered the weather for KTUU and KJTV. I’ve also broadcasted in Spanish working at KXTQ Telemundo 46. My interest in weather began as a young student learning to fly small aircraft. Before meteorology I worked as a news anchor/reporter at KTVF in Fairbanks, and I was the News Director at WDJR radio in Enterprise, Alabama. I’ve also hosted morning radio shows at KASH, KBFX and KEAG in Anchorage.
I am a graduate of the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University and I have a BS in Broadcast Journalism from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.
I am married to a life-long Alaskan and I have two sons, a cat and three golden retrievers.
