Zombies cause a ruckus on campus

ANCHORAGE –

Zombies caused a commotion on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus Wednesday morning.

The walking dead were there to promote the 10th annual Undergraduate Research and Discovery Symposium.

The event features 94 research projects from 170 students across a variety of disciplines.

The symposium will also feature a keynote address called “Zombies: Physiology of the Undead” delivered by Dr. Michael Harris, an associate professor at University of Alaska Fairbanks.

“What he does is he combines neuroscience with pop culture. So zombies, to really help his students understand what physiology and neuroscience is,” said O’Hara Shipe, undergraduate research and recruiting coordinator.

The keynote address is Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Rasmuson Hall. The poster fair is Friday at 2 p.m.

All the events are free and open to the public.
