Window of Warmth

The Window Is Closing...For Now

We couldn't ask for a better first Friday of Summer. Lots of sunshine, temperatures near 70 degrees. It was gorgeous. Step outside and look east though, and you'll see tomorrow's weather sneaking up over the mountains. High clouds are already starting to creep over Anchorage. Those clouds will progressively thicken through the overnight hours and will eventually start dropping some rainfall.

I'm hoping those scattered showers will be a first half of the day event, as models pull the best lift and moisture out by the afternoon. That could allow for some sunshine to sneak in during the afternoon hours, hopefully allowing temps to get into the 60s. Looks like a similar forecast for Sunday too.

Next week is shaping up to be a wet one, with showers hanging around the area in various capacities throughout the week. We'll be fine tuning next week's forecast over the coming days, as any brief breaks of sunshine will allow temperatures to rise fairly rapidly given the time of year. As of now, plan on being more in the ballpark of 60 rather than 70, but again little bursts of sun could change that.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
