We still need to get through today, in which we'll get hit with overcast conditions

After a wild winter season, it's seems kind of normal that spring would be the same way. Records are just meant to be broken, and yesterday the Interior broke even more.

Warm air in the 60s made an appearance in Fairbanks, reaching a daytime high of 61 degrees, beating the old record of 59 back in 1993. "The Golden Heart City" is normally sitting at 45 degrees for this time of year, however with storms hanging out so far south it's producing warm air. These unseasonably warm temperatures will persist throughout the rest of the week.

In the Southwest a low pressure system is sagging south, which is supporting scattered showers along with fog across the Alaska Peninsula. This system will start to dissipate by tomorrow, but right behind it will be another low that will move in by tomorrow evening. Occasional rain along with snow at times will continue to brew across the Peninsula throughout Thursday and possibly Friday.

In the Southcentral light showers will fall along coastal areas throughout the day. This low that is causing rain shower activity is weakening but won't move out until tomorrow afternoon. Portions of the Northeastern Prince William Sound may still get hit with isolated rain through Wednesday, but high pressure coming out of the Bering Sea is going to try and dry things out. Partly sunny skies is what we are looking forward to tomorrow afternoon with temperatures finally hitting 52. Increasing clouds will start to work back in late Thursday into Friday but warm air is associated with the cloud coverage. We'll remain very consistent in the upper 40s to low 50s. Tomorrow also marks the 15 hour mark for daylight hours in Anchorage.

We still need to get through today, in which we'll get hit with overcast conditions -- and it's last day to get your taxes done. Not a bad day to be inside getting things done, so tomorrow you can enjoy the heat!

Have a great day Alaska.
