About 2/3 through the month of June, and we have already eclipsed our average precipitation for the month (1.09" v. 1.06"). How big of a deal is that? Normally, not a big deal at all. But considering the fact that the last month we saw above normal precipitation was all the way back in February, the stat sticks out a little bit more.

A little surface trough could be picked out this morning just off to the west of Anchorage. That location allowed for upper level winds to flow from the southeast-meaning downsloping prevailed in the city. As the day progresses, the odds of clouds breaking apart and sunshine filtering through should be increasing. In fact, Solstice Tuesday looks to feature a cloud sun mix. By early Wednesday though, the rain will be back, and could be sticking around in isolated form through the remainder of the week

Although it's officially summer beginning tomorrow, it won't necessarily feel like it. Temps should hover around average in the low 60s through the week. Looks like we could have a summer-like warmup on the horizon by the weekend though!
