Some Meaningful Rain
No doubt most people would prefer sunshine all summer all, but that’s just not going to happen until tomorrow for the most populated area of Alaska.

No doubt most people would prefer sunshine all summer all, but that’s just not going to happen until tomorrow for the most populated area of Alaska. Rain clouds are slowly moving out and along with them light rain for the Southcentral Region. While the parent Low is in the Northern Bering Sea, the attached front is pushing forward as if to conclude it’s job as rapidly as possible. That’s good news if you’re willing to get the showers out of the way by this weekend which is looking pretty promising with a good dose of warm temperatures and sunny days. Otherwise some leftover light rain tonight (but only in isolated spots this includes the Mat-Su Valley). Once the front passes expect the nicer weather to return by tomorrow.
Most of the rain showers will be moving from West to East across the state which will include just about every region except the Southeast Panhandle where sunshine and temperatures in the 70’s will continue.
The Interior and North Slope will also see a few showers passing through and a slight drop in the temperatures after a few spots were seeing tempertures in the 80’s over the weekend.
A well deserved break will be had in the Southwest where drier weather is moving in behind the passing front and a ridge of high pressure is building. Except for a few gusty winds the weather from Unalaska to Kodiak to Dillingham should be pleasant
