Friday night and Saturday are going to be very interesting for south central.  Parts of the region could see their first snowflakes of the fall season.  Friday cooler air will begin to really filter into the region.  We will see a cool September rain (yes feel free to hum GNR’s November Rain when you say that.  That’s what I do.) on Friday.  Most of the region will see highs in the low to mid 40s.  Friday night we will see temperatures drop into the 30s for much of the region and will likely begin to see rain showers mixing with snow.  By Saturday it looks like snow levels will drop down to the 1,000 to 2,000 foot range.  So no accumulating snow in the Anchorage Bowl, but the higher up the Hillside you go you could see some light accumulations.  Maybe an inch or two.  There isn’t going to be a lot of moisture left with this system by Saturday.  I think any moisture with this system will move out Saturday night an Sunday should be cool with sunnier skies returning throughout the day.

7 Day Forecast For Anchorage

Overnight will be cloudy and cool with rain developing.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 30s.  Friday will be rainy at times with highs in the low to mid 40s.  Saturday we will see some rain showers mixed with snow at times.  Could be all snow showers on the Hillside with light accumulations.  Highs will be in the low 40s.  Sunday we will see decreasing cloudiness with highs in the low to mid 40s.  Monday looks great with sunshine but brisk conditions with highs in the mid 40s.  Tuesday through Thursday will be mostly to partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 40s.
