Rain showers continue for south central Alaska as the moisture moves over from the southeast. The cloud cover is blocking out the sun preventing radiational cooling at night and heating during the day keeping temperatures somewhat consistent with the highs in the upper 40s and the lows in the 30s for the Anchorage Bowl. Anchorage has received 0.48 inches of rain since the beginning of the showers as of yesterday. It's like Seattle weather but not. If you can believe it, there is some heavy snow fall along the Seward Highway around the Summit Lake Lodge area; so begins the fight between rain and snow. Good news is by Tuesday there is some high pressure building over the Gulf and into the Anchorage Bowl area chasing away the moisture and giving way to one day of reprieve to bask in the sunlight once more with mostly sunny skies. This is short live due to the rain showers coming in Wednesday afternoon and is expected to hang around until Friday. Make Tuesday count. If you plan on outdoor activities on Tuesday bring some warm cloth because temperature are only expected to reach 48 degree, however, it will stay above freezing. If you're stuck at work and just can't get out Tuesday, no worries, this weekend will not be as awesome as Tuesday but it will still have partly sunny skies so you can get your vitamin D in before winter officially hits.

The Southeast will have beautiful weather with sunny skies on Monday with only some isolated showers down to the south of the region with high temperature remaining in the mid to lower 50s. Rain showers will be moving in on Tuesday. The Interior will have mostly cloudy conditions with snow showers and fog over the North Slope. Rain/snow mix will be occurring on the west coast except for McGrath with cloudy skies and isolated snow showers. Rain is continually falling for the Southwest and will not be stopping anytime soon for the next three days. High temperatures are expected to stay within the 40s and lows will remain in the 30s.
