October 2012 climate numbers for Anchorage, Annette, Barrow, Bethel, Cold Bay, Fairbanks, Juneau, King Salmon, Kodiak, Kotzebue, McGrath, Nome, St. Paul, Valdez, & Yakutat. These numbers were compiled from data from the National Weather Service.

Juneau -  for the month Juneau had an average high of 43.6 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 47.1 degrees.  As for snow 1.4’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 0.8’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Juneau saw 3.50’’.  The average for the month is 8.63’’.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.   

King Salmon-  for the month King Salmon had an average high of 39.4 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 41.4 degrees.  As for snow 11.6’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 2.8’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) King Salmon saw 1.86’’.  The average for the month is 2.08’’.  Three daily record highs were recorded.  On Oct. 3rd it hit 58 degrees, on Oct. 7th it hit 61 degrees, and on Oct. 11th it hit 56 degrees.  No daily lows were recorded for the month.

Kodiak -  for the month Kodiak had an average high of 44.3 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 46.5 degrees.  As for snow 0.4’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 1.1’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Kodiak saw 4.71’’.  The average for the month is 8.26’’.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded.      

Kotzebue -  for the month Kotzebue had an average high of 32.1 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 28.6 degrees.  As for snow 0.7’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 6.1’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Kotzebue saw 1.12’’.  The average for the month is 1.01’’.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded.

McGrath-  for the month McGrath had an average high of 32.8 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 31.9 degrees.  As for snow 0.7’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 10.2’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) McGrath saw 1.80’’.  The average for the month is 1.44’’.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded. 

Nome-  for the month Nome had an average high of 35.8 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 34.5 degrees.  As for snow 2.1’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 4.6’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Nome saw 1.36’’.  The average for the month is 2.56’’.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month. 

St. Paul -  for the month St. Paul had an average high of 42.0 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 42.9 degrees.  As for snow 0.8’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 2.0’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) St. Paul saw 3.85’’.  The average for the month is 3.11’’.  A daily record high of 47 degrees was recorded on Oct. 21st.  No daily record lows were recorded.  . 

Valdez -  for the month Valdez had an average high of 43.0 degrees.  The normal average high for the month is 43.5 degrees.  As for snow 1.6’’ fell.  The average snowfall in October is 10.7’’.  As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Valdez saw 7.33’’.  The average for the month is 8.24’’.  No daily record highs were recorded.  Two daily record lows were recorded.  On Oct. 1st it dipped to 27 degrees and on Oct. 26th it dipped to 18 degrees.
