This major winter storm continues to move up the west coast and into the Interior. This storm will bring a mixed bag of weather conditions throughout the Interior until Tuesday.

Here in the Southcentral we stay predominantly wet tonight with a freezing rain advisory put into place until 3pm Saturday.

Road conditions are very hazardous at this time even though temperatures are above freezing.

For the Interior, winter storm warnings have been put into place throughout Sunday, where snowfall totals of up to 1 foot can be expected in many areas. Higher terrain could possibly see up to 2 feet.

Associated with this storm is a strong gradient, that has developed across the Alaska range. This is producing very strong Chinook winds around the Alaska Range west of the Tok cutoff.

Local gust will continue to increase to 75 mph along passes. Upper elevations and Turnagin arm as we continue into tonight gust up to 90 mph is possible.

We love this chinook wind for the stream of warm air it's producing, however the strong winds could cause damage in some areas.

Two thirds of the state is currently under blizzard warnings or winter storm warnings. This system is causing for very hazardous conditions so please stay safe, as the passing of this storm should start as we head into Monday morning.

Have a wonderful Sunday Alaska.
