March 2012 climate numbers for Anchorage, Annette, Barrow, Bethel, Cold Bay, Fairbanks, Juneau, King Salmon, Kodiak, Kotzebue, McGrath, Nome, St. Paul, Valdez, & Yakutat. These numbers were compiled from data from the National Weather Service.

Anchorage - for the month Anchorage had an average high of 29.7 degrees. The normal average high for the month is 34.0 degrees. As for snow 9.5’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 9.9’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Anchorage saw 0.63’’. The average for the month is 0.60’’. No daily record lows or highs were recorded for the month.

Annette - for the month Annette had an average high of 42.0 degrees. The normal average high for the month is 44.9 degrees. As for snow 14.3’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 6.9’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Annette saw 9.53’’. The average for the month is 8.05’’. A daily record high of 55 degrees was recorded on March 27th. No daily record lows were recorded.

Barrow - for the month Barrow had an average high of –15.7 degrees. The normal average high for the month is –6.1 degrees. As for snow 0.4’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 2.1’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Barrow saw 0.01’’. The average for the month is 0.09’’. No daily record lows or highs were recorded for the month.

Bethel - for the month Bethel had an average high of 11.4 degrees. The normal average high for the month is 22.6 degrees. As for snow 12.5’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 8.2’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Bethel saw 1.23’’. The average for the month is 0.71’’. A daily record low of –23 degrees was recorded on Mar. 18th. No daily record highs were recorded for the month.

Cold Bay- for the month Cold Bay had an average high of 25.3 degrees. The normal average high for the month is 35.2 degrees. As for snow 43.3’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 13.0’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Cold Bay saw 7.13’’. The average for the month is 2.70’’. A daily record low of 3 degrees was recorded on March 13th, 5 degrees on March 20th, and –3 degrees on March 22nd. No daily record highs were recorded.

Fairbanks- for the month Fairbanks had an average high of 17.6 degrees. The normal average high for the month is 25.5 degrees. As for snow 14.7’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 4.9’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Fairbanks saw 0.74’’. The average for the month is 0.25’’. No daily record lows or highs were recorded for the month.

Juneau - for the month Juneau had an average high of 39.8 degrees. The normal average high for the month is 39.6 degrees. As for snow 14.6’’ fell. The average snowfall in Mar. is 11.6’’. As for total precipitation (rain and melted snow) Juneau saw 2.82’’. The average for the month is 3.78’’. No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.
