June 2011 Climate Numbers

I've compiled climate numbers for the communities of Anchorage, Annette, Barrow, Bethel, Cold Bay, Fairbanks, Juneau, King Salmon, Kodiak, Kotzebue, McGrath, Nome, St. Paul, Valdez, and Yakutat.

ANCHORAGE - June 2011 wasn't too bad in Anchorage.  The average high was slightly below normal and precipitation was very close to normal.  For the month the average high was 61.1 degrees.  Anchorage normally averages 62.3 degrees.  As for rainfall 1.19'' of rain fell.  The normal is 1.06'' of rain.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

ANNETTE - June 2011 was pretty normal temperature wise for Annette.  Precipitation though was a bit below normal.  For the month the average high was 60.8 degrees.  Annette normally averages 60.3 degrees.  As for rainfall 2.06'' of rain fell.  The normal is 4.72'' of rain.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

BARROW - June 2011 was pretty normal for Barrow.  For the month the average high was 39.3 degrees.  Barrow normally averages 39.5 degrees.  Barrow did pick up 0.8'' of snow and they do average 0.8'' for the month of June. As for rainfall and melted snow 0.54'' of precipitation fell.  The normal is 0.32'' of precip.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

BETHEL - June 2011 was slightly cooler and drier than normal.  For the month the average high was 58.4 degrees.  Bethel normally averages 59.4 degrees.  As for rainfall 0.83'' of rain fell.  The normal is 1.60'' of rain.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

COLD BAY - June 2011 was a little cooler and wetter than normal for Cold Bay.  For the month the average high was 49.9 degrees.  Cold Bay normally averages 50.8 degrees.  As for rainfall 3.41'' of rain fell.  The normal is 2.89'' of rain.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

FAIRBANKS- June 2011 was slightly cooler and wetter than normal.  For the month the average high was 69.9 degrees.  Fairbanks normally averages 70.9 degrees.  As for rainfall 1.77'' of rain fell.  The normal is 1.40'' of rain.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

JUNEAU- June 2011 was slightly cooler and wetter than normal.  For the month the average high was 61.0 degrees.  Juneau normally averages 61.6 degrees.  As for rainfall 4.50'' of rain fell.  The normal is 3.36'' of rain.  No daily record highs or lows were recorded for the month.

KING SALMON - June 2011 was cooler and wetter than normal.  For the month the average high was 56.1 degrees.  King Salmon normally averages 59.5 degrees.  As for rainfall 2.77'' of rain fell.  The normal is 1.70'' of rain.  No daily record highs were recorded for the month.  King Salmon did set two daily record lows.  It dipped to 30 degrees on June 2nd and 35 degrees on June 23rd. 

KODIAK - June 2011 was cooler and drier than normal.  For the month the average high was 53.5 degrees.  Kodiak normally averages 54.5 degrees.  As for rainfall 3.24'' of rain fell.  The normal is 5.38'' of rain.  No daily record highs were recorded for the month.  A daily record low was set on June 6th when it dipped to 36 degrees.
