Anyone else notice the wind?  It’s been very windy today in south central and will get worse overnight.  We have a HIGH WIND WARNING in effect for the higher elevations around Anchorage and along the Turnagain Arm from 6 PM Tuesday until 5 AM Wednesday.  Winds will be hurricane force in areas overnight with winds of 70-85 mph and gusts of 100 mph.  If you live up on the Hillside be careful and make sure you bring any loose items indoors.  If you have to travel the Seward Highway along the Turnagain Arm it might be best to wait until tomorrow when winds will begin to diminish.  Along with the wind there is a lot of rain with this system.  Areas of the Prince William Sound and eastern Kenai Peninsula could pick up in the neighborhood of 3 to 6 inches of rain the next 48 hours.  There is a FLOOD WATCH in effect for streams in Seward area until Wednesday afternoon.

7 Day Forecast For Anchorage.

Overnight will be very windy.  In town winds wil range from 30 to 45 mph.  On the Hillside winds will range from 70 to 85 mph with gusts of 100 mph possible.  We will also see occasional rain with lows near 50.  Wednesday winds will begin to diminish.  In town winds will range from 15 to 30 mph.  On the Hillside winds will range from 35 to 45 mph with gusts of 55 mph possible.  Skies will be cloudy with light rain at times and highs in the mid 50s.  Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a few showers possible in the morning.  Highs will be in the mid 50s.  Friday will again be mostly cloudy with an isolated shower possible and highs in the low to mid 50s.  Saturday and Sunday will be quiet with mostly to partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid 50s.  Monday and Tuesday will again be mostly to partly cloudy with highs in the mid 50s.

Power still out over 28 hours (provider ML&P) in our area of Mt View. Any updates on when they'll be repairing electric service?
