This warm air mass that has moved into the state has many excited for the much-needed break from the cold month of January.

Sunny skies give us time to dig out from Friday's storm, when we got 10.9 inches. So we're glad to have some time to enjoy the sunshine Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday a little more cloud coverage will take place and produce us with some snow for Wednesday afternoon lingering into Thursday.

Temperatures will remain consistent in the 30s with overnight lows in the lower 20s. A place where temperatures are nice and toasty is Southeast, where at last they are experiencing mostly cloudy skies, with temperatures in the lower 40s.

The Interior will continue to love the weather with temps finally tapping out in the mid 20s in Fairbanks today. Throughout portions of the Interior we are seeing an 90-degree temperature change from last week. That sunshine will be out today, allowing residents to feel enjoy being outside without that bitter cold.

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect for the western coastal communities until 6 p.m. tonight. Low pressure is gradually tapering off, allowing tonight for things to change to mostly cloudy skies with scattered snow showers.

The warm conditions will continue though for the Northwest and Southwest, where highs will be in the 20s to 30s: this after being down to 45-below just last week, along with severe wind chill advisories.

The great news is we are sticking together on this, so enjoy the warmth across the state.
