The slushy February weather will continue into this weekend for much of the southern half of the state. In January Anchorage saw and average high of 9 degrees! The first 10 days of February have been much different. So far we have seen an average high of 31.5 degrees. Temperatures look to remain in the 30s for the weekend. We will also continue to see occasional rain and snow throughout the region and windy conditions on the Hillside, Turnagain Arm, Portage Valley, and Matanuska Valley. In the southeast mild temperatures and wet weather will prevail throughout the weekend. Into the southwest you will also see gray skies with rain, snow, and wind throughout the weekend. Into the Interior and northwestern part of the state the weather should be a bit quieter with the milder temperatures sticking around into next week.
