What a nice way to start off the week with temperatures in the upper 30's for daytime highs here in the Anchorage area. The weather pattern has been very consistent for the for the last week and will continue as we head into the third week of February.

More moisture is moving in with this system. Once again this low will bring warmer air associated with it, but snowfall along with winds will take over the Southwest along with the Southcentral throughout today.

Heavy snow continues for portions of the Northeastern Prince William Sound causing a blizzard warning to be put in place until noon today. Another 6 inches is to be expected along with reduced visibility down to a quarter of a mile. This storm could linger throughout Valdez and Cordova as we head into tonight, but will move out of the area by morning. In Anchorage, snow will start by the afternoon lingering into tonight where we will see 1 to 2 inches of accumulation.

From radar images, persistent snow showers will continue throughout today in the Southwest, but warmer temperatures will remain. Most Alaskans at this point will take the warmer conditions with a little snow.

The storm that is effecting the Southwest will continue to move towards the North, dropping down in Anchorage and the Soutcentral by Wednesday. This allows a break for your Valentines Day festivities. Temperatures will remain tomorrow in the lower 30's with overnight lows dropping to the lower 20's. This will be the routine for the rest of the week with cloud coverage taking over, but the mild air will continue.

Enjoy a little snow my snow fans. Have a great day A.K.
