A Week Of Improvement

It’s going to be a week filled with improvement in south central Alaska and much of the southern half of the state.

It’s going to be a week filled with improvement in south central Alaska and much of the southern half of the state. Right now clouds and rain and snow showers are drapped over the southern coastline. This will continue to be the case for the southern half of the state through midweek. Towards the end of the week drier weather and cooler weather will return to southern Alaska. The northern half of the state will remain relatively quiet through the rest of the week.

7 Day Forecast For Anchorage

Overnight will be mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers towards morning. Lows will range from the upper teens to mid 20s. Tuesday we could see light snow at times with light accumulations of 1’’-3’’ possible. Highs will be in the low 30s. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with occasional snow showers and highs in the upper 20s. Thursday we will see morning clouds and snow showers with decreasing cloudiness in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 20s. Friday looks great with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 20s. Saturday skies will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 20s. Sunday clouds will be on the increase with highs near 30. Monday we could see a few snow showers with highs in the low 30s.

Alaska extremes for Monday. The hot spots the past 12 hours were Iliamna, Hydaburg, Metlakatla, and Sitka where it hit 43 degrees. The cold spots the past 24 hours were Arctic Village and Fort Yukon where it dipped to -24.
