Happy Easter!A Low pressure system just west of Seward Peninsula causes widespread showers and winds from the Alaska Peninsula up to Seward Peninsula.
A Low pressure system just west of Seward Peninsula causes widespread showers and winds from the Alaska Peninsula up to Seward Peninsula. High pressure prevails over the ALCAN boarder bringing beautiful weather conditions for the majority of Alaskans in the state. For tomorrow, warm temperatures continue for the Southeast with highs in the 50s and partly cloudy skies to the north and mostly cloudy skies to the south. Expect mostly sunny skies for the Interior with Barrow the only place with mostly cloudy skies, winds, and fog. Prudhoe Bay will have patchy fog. High temperatures for the North are in the single digits. Farther to the southern portions of the region high temperatures are in the 40s. As the Low to the west of the Seward Peninsula retreats westward toward Russia, it takes the showers and warm temperatures with it. Kotzebue and Nome will have Winter Weather Advisories for the morning with winds, reduced visibility, and snow showers. Showers will occur over St. Mary’s and Bethel. All high West Coast temperatures will reach the 30s. McGrath will have mostly cloudy skies with a high in the 40s. Anticipate winds throughout the Southwest and strong winds periodically over Cold Bay. The dominate weather conditions will be cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with showers. There will be winds for Dillingham and Unalaska with high temperatures in the 30s and 40s. South Central will have a brilliant day tomorrow with sunshine for the Kenai Peninsula, Matsu Valley and Anchorage Bowl. High temperatures top off in the 30s and 40s.
Tonight for the Anchorage Bowl, we will have clear skies and a few clouds later on into the night. By morning there will be patchy fog that will burn off by afternoon, giving us a splendid day of sunshine. This weather pattern will repeat until Wednesday, then for the rest of the week straight sunshine and no fog. For the weekend, anticipate a few clouds slowly increasing to mostly cloudy skies by Sunday. High temperatures will be in the 40s and low temperatures will be in the 20s. It is a great way to start the week that follows Easter Sunday.
Today has been a perfect day to enjoy Easter festivities and I hope everyone who celebrates this holiday had a chance to go to church and see friends and family. It has been a perfect day to go outdoors. Apparently the ice on Kenai River is breaking-up slightly. These are good signs that indicate summer is just around the corner. Have a Happy Easter!
