A Day To Remember

As good as it gets in the weather department.

Summer-like weather is back for a day! Sunshine has been out all morning and temperatures are already beginning to climb into the 60s. Most of us will hit 70 or better around Anchorage today, perfect for all those with outdoor plans.

The first half of Tuesday looks great, with more sunshine on tap. But that sun will quickly be replaced by cloud cover from the southwest as an occluded front works its way northward. Clouds should arrive by the afternoon, and typical upslope areas of south central could get a few raindrops by evening. At least in the city, downsloping winds will keep things mostly dry, save an isolated sprinkle or two.

After today, we won't see 70 again this week.  We could get close in a few spots tomorrow, but it's all downhill from there. With the increased overcast temperatures will struggle through the 60s, and the end of the week could be more in the ballpark of upper 50s.

Our elusive rain doesn't look like it will make an appearance in Anchorage this week. But by the weekend, isolated showers should be around the area, so we'll keep our fingers crossed that a few manage to survive the voyage down the mountains and finally put our rain gauges to work.

Hope you all enjoy the day...be sure to take a moment to remember why you're not at work :) To all our Service men and women we thank you!
