By Heather Hintze 2:10 AM November 12, 2013

Wryan Young is charged with fleeing the scene of a fatal accident that killed a Wasilla man along a Montana highway

ANCHORAGE – Two Montana counties charged a woman in the death of a Wasilla man that occurred earlier this fall.

Investigators say 81-year-old Elgie Bedford’s body was struck by several cars on Interstate 90 near Big Timber, Mont. on Sept. 30. He had been walking in the westbound lanes of the highway, according to court documents.

Later that morning in Livingston, Mont., a person found part of Bedford’s body in a car wash.

Wryan Young, 31, of Oak Harbor, Wash. is charged with failing to remain at the scene of a fatal accident and tampering with evidence.

Court documents show when a lieutenant with the Island County Sheriff’s Office showed up at the Young home to question her about the incident, her dad, Westley, told the officer: “The semi ahead of us hit the guy first.”

Westley Young is also charged with tampering with evidence.

Wryan Young is expected to appear in court in Big Timber, Mont. on Dec. 10.
