The dream and the dream season both continue.
With another stirring performance, UAA volleyball charged its way through the NCAA Division II Semifinals with a four set win over Palm Beach Atlantic 25-16, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22 at the Sanford Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Seawolves are now into the national finals and will face Concordia St. Paul (MN) Saturday at 2 p.m.
With 51 assists, senior Morgan Hooe broke the school’s career assist record. It only seemed appropriate that the clinching point also came on her serve.
Dimond High School’s Chrisalyn Johnson was a stalwart again with 17 kills, while Leah Swiss added 14.
Sixth-seeded UAA (34-2), also managed Palm Beach’s blocking ability. The second-seeded Sailfish (32-4) came into the matchup ranked third in the nation in blocks.
Sarah Ragland entered with 1.5 blocks per set-tops in the nation. But the Seawolves neutralized the Florida-based team’s height. In the process, UAA snapped Palm Beach’s 32 match winning streak.
UAA, a program which has been playing since 1980, is one win away from bringing home a national title.
