By KTVA CBS 11 News 12:36 PM December 19, 2013

Anyone with information about the incident or suspect is asked to call AST at 745-2131 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333

ANCHORAGE – Troopers are asking for the public’s help identifying a man videotaped stealing gas cans from a Wasilla yard Monday.

According to a statement released by Alaska State Troopers Thursday, law enforcement officers were first called to a home on Brennas Way after someone broke in through a window. The homeowner told troopers the suspect knocked over the Christmas tree and moved items around, but didn’t take anything.

Troopers said they followed the suspect’s footsteps through the neighborhood, including eight residential yards. A surveillance camera from a home on East Melrose Court shows the suspect trying to enter through a locked outside door before leaving with several items from the yard.

Anyone with information about the incident or suspect is asked to call AST at 745-2131 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333, troopers said.
