Missing Soldotna woman found safe

By Hope Miller 4:30 PM June 22, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

Update: Troopers in the Mat-Su Valley found Guillemette Sunday and confirmed she is OK, spokesman Tim DeSpain said in an email.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding a 35-year-old woman who was last seen in Kenai on Sunday.

Amanda May Guillemette of Soldotna was reported missing Tuesday after she didn’t show up for work Monday, said Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen in a statement.

She has had no confirmed contact with her family this week, Ipsen said. Although relatives have received text messages from her phone, “we have been unable to verify that she’s sending them,” Ipsen said in an email.

Guillemette is believed to have been driving a red or maroon Pontiac Aztec with a license plate number of ELJ231. It’s unknown what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance. Troopers describe her as 5 feet 2 inches tall and about 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Her case does not seem to be related to the Kenai Police Department’s search for the missing Kenai family, Ipsen said.

Troopers ask anyone with information on Guillemette’s whereabouts to call them in Soldotna at 262-4453.
