Missing woman found safe in Palmer

Theresa Mayo spent 36 hours outside before being located

PALMER- A Woman missing for 36 hours has been found in a gravel pit just south of her home.

Alaska State Troopers say they located 59-year-old Theresa Mayo around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Mayo was first reported missing Friday afternoon by her husband and crews spent all day Saturday looking for her before she was located.

Troopers say Mayo was cold and dehydrated after spending the night outside.

She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
