Troopers search for suspects in assault near Anchor Point

By KTVA CBS 11 News 10:45 AM June 5, 2014
ANCHOR POINT –

A report of a man standing in the road in his boxers led to a robbery and assault investigation for Alaska State Troopers from Anchor Point Wednesday afternoon.

According to trooper dispatch, AST responded to the end of East End Road shortly after 4:15 p.m. and found the victim with minor injuries. He told troopers he was riding an ATV when he was run off the road by a silver, single-cab Toyota pickup with a beat-up camper shell, AST said. The victim told troopers he was thrown from his vehicle when it went down a steep embankment; he said the two men driving the pickup then left their vehicle, held him to the ground and beat him.

Troopers said the two men — who wore masks partially covering their faces — allegedly stripped the victim of his clothes and took multiple items from him before leaving the scene.

AST said the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call Anchor Point troopers at 907-235-8239.
