Multiple fatalities reported in Cessna 208 crash
Update: Jim Hickerson, president of Hageland Aviation, confirmed the plane was flown by his company and carried 10 people when it crashed near a dump in St. Mary’s around 6:30 p.m. A St. Mary’s resident who responded to the downed plane said there were multiple fatalities.
ANCHORAGE – A Cessna 208 flying out of Bethel went down near Mountain Village Friday, Bethel police said.
A spokeswoman for the Alaska State Troopers said they believed the privately-owned plane carried 10 people. Troopers responded to the crash scene Friday evening. There was no immediate information available about injuries or the circumstances behind the crash.
