Troopers: Pilot unhurt after plane loses power

By Associated Press 12:15 PM March 3, 2014

The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Alaska State Troopers say a 41-year-old Oregon man landed a small plane on a frozen lake in Alaska after his aircraft lost power.

Troopers say Jason Robinson was not hurt in the incident reported Thursday. He was the only one on board the Cessna 207 operated by Bethel-based Yute Air.

Robinson’s hometown was not immediately disclosed.

Troopers say Robinson landed the plane on the lake about 15 miles out of the western Alaska village of Nightmute.

People on snowmobiles transported Robinson to the village.

The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified.

An official with Yute Air did not immediately return a call for comment Monday.
