Treadwell campaign announces new TV ad

By Associated Press 3:03 PM June 12, 2014

Juneau, Alaska (AP) - Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Mead Treadwell has released a new video, in which he calls his campaign “a movement for freedom and a battle for Alaska.”

Spokesman Tom Intorcio, in an email, referred to the video as the campaign’s first TV ad. He later said it was digital content that will eventually be used for a TV ad campaign.

Treadwell, Alaska’s lieutenant governor, is seeking the GOP nomination in the August primary. Other high-profile Republican contenders are Joe Miller and Dan Sullivan, a former state Natural Resources commissioner. All three have cast themselves as the conservative choice to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Mark Begich.

Begich is seeking re-election and not expected to face much of a primary challenge.

The video is entitled “The True Alaskan Conservative.”
