Travel Tuesday: Visit Anchorage Frontline Trade Show

By Daybreak Staff 3:22 PM May 10, 2016
ANCHORAGE –

The first cruise ship of the season is set to dock at the Port of Anchorage on Memorial day. According to Visit Anchorage, the state is projected to bring in over 2 million visitors this year.

On the heels of tourist season, businesses across the state are gearing up for one of its busiest times of the year. This weekend Visit Anchorage is putting on its Frontline Trade Show aiming to give Alaskans everything they need to know for the upcoming tourist season from over 70 vendors from the Botanical Gardens to different breweries.

Tuesday, Anita Nelson with Visit Anchorage, joined Daybreak to talk about the event and how it will help you answer some of those popular tourist questions, such as, “where do I eat” or “what should I do.”

“If you have staff, this is a fun and efficient way to get them ready,” said Nelson. “Or if you have visitors coming in it’s a great one‑stop shop to learn the newest itineraries, maybe some new specials and packages that are out there for overnight stays, as well as maybe some fresh menu items, especially for folks looking for seafood when they come to town.”
