Travel Tuesday: Beating the crowds

By Daybreak Staff 9:18 AM April 15, 2014
ANCHORAGE –

Alaska’s bustling tourism season is just a few weeks away, and Travel Guru Scott McMurren said now’s the time for locals to find big savings on in-state travel.

In Homer, McMurren said Land’s End Resort is offering couples’ overnight accommodations and dinner at the Chart Room restaurant for $139 per night now through May 8. If you’re interested in staying on the spit for two nights, look for even bigger savings.

McMurren said Major Marine Tours is also offering spring savings. Now through May 11, the tour company is selling a four-hour gray whale watching cruise, overnight stay at Holiday Inn Express and admission to the Alaska Sea Life Center for $119 per adult. Click here for more information.

Alaskans can also find deals on accommodations at Princess Alaska Lodges statewide. Starting in mid-May, nights at the Copper River Princess, Mt. McKinley Princess and Denali Princess will sell for $79-$99.
