  • John Royall 3 - Mechele Linehan could go free - KTVA
I have searched for two years for the reason Mechele Linehan was convicted. I think it was because she was tried on a basis of being either an angel or a demon. In his letter Kent Leppinkf suggested she had a split personality and that if she had married him he would have destroyed the letter. He never gave any reason why he thought Linehan wanted him dead and he didn't mention Hope or the note at all. The facts entered by the prosecutor was designed to assassinate her character and thereby demonize her. Even though she didn't think Leppink would go back to Hope and John Carlin could not go there and back in the less than two hours he had on May 2, 1996, the demonized image that some people insist on is the only thing that makes it possible to see her (and Carlin to get at her) as guilty. The Hope Note only said she would be in Hope for the weekend--not the following Thursday.3/18/10  12:07 PM
