The Salvation Army still needs volunteers for its Red Kettle Campaign
ANCHORAGE – The bells are back.
Salvation Army bell ringers will start Saturday, but they still need more volunteers to pitch in for the holiday season.
The Red Kettle Campaign is one of its largest fundraisers. Last year, statewide, it brought in $700,00.
The organization needs people to work two-hour shifts at dozens of locations around town through Dec. 24.
“One of the great things about it is it’s a great way to have the community involved. Its’ a great way to meet and greet people as they’re out doing their Christmas shopping, bring a sense of the holidays and get people in the mood for the season,” said Captain Tim Smith with the Salvation Army.
