Millennials are the future of Alaska’s workforce, and the possibilities to find career opportunities and network are endless. But making those connections can be tricky for someone just starting out. To make it a little easier, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Group will host a summit at the end of March.
The Young Professionals Group is the biggest young professional organization in Alaska, with more than 400 active members, according to its website. The objective is to help Alaskans aged 21 to 39 develop skills to grow personally and professionally by connecting them to businesses and other motivated individuals.
Ryann Swalling, who is with the group, said in her experience, it’s all about getting noticed.
The 2017 Alaska Young Professionals Summit will be at the Dena’ina Civic and ConventionCenter in Anchorage on March 30 and March 31. Tickets are $275 for general admission and $225 for Anchorage Chamber of Commerce members.
The keynote speaker of the event is Brian Wong, who is the co-founder of Kiip, a mobile advertising platform. The other speaker is Dale Dixon, the chief innovation officer of the Better Business Bureau Northwest. There will be raffles and awards during the event as well.
