I took the KTVA weather lab out of the studio and into Huffman Elementary School this week.

The second and third graders in Ms. Calabro and Ms. Sterling's classes are learning all about the weather this school year, so I stopped by to share with them some of the instruments I use to forecast the weather. They learned about barometers and thermometers, satellites and radar. I also used the KTVA Weather Lab to introduce them to how high and low pressure is created and what it takes to make a 7-day forecast.

These young scientists know their weather vocabulary and were eager to get their questions answered. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some bright future scientists, mathematicians, and engineers graduating from Huffman Elementary.
