One person has died following a crash Thursday morning near Mile 39 of the Glenn Highway in Palmer, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The woman, identified by troopers as 25-year-old Hailey Belnap of Palmer, was reportedly killed when her car left the roadway and struck an embankment.

The vehicle landed on a conveyor belt owned and operated by Alaska Sand & Gravel.

"Investigation revealed that a small boulder was in the roadway," AST wrote in a release. "It is under investigation if the small boulder was a factor in the crash."

The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities will assist Troopers in their investigation.

Belnap was taken to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital and was pronounced dead at 9:27 a.m. Thursday.

She was the sole occupant of the yellow 2015 Honda involved in the crash.

Her next of kin have been notified, according to AST.
