Woman sought on robbery, assault charges found
Anchorage Police say they found a woman who threatened to tase a Walmart security officer after police say she tried returning an air mattress with a fake receipt.
On Saturday night, Jessica Jones, 31, walked into the Walmart store on Old Seward Highway, grabbed a new air mattress from a shelf, and then went to the customer service counter to return it with a fraudulent receipt, according to an APD statement.
"As Jessica attempted to leave the store, she was confronted by store security," police wrote. "Jessica tried to push through the employee three times before reaching into her hoody while stating she was going to taze (sic) him. The employee stepped aside and Jessica fled the scene; no Tazer was seen."
Jones got away and police issued a felony warrant for her arrest on charges of second-degree robbery, fourth-degree assault and fourth-degree theft. She also has two outstanding warrants for failing to appear in a Soldotna court for prior charges: removal of merchandise and trespassing.
After receiving a tip Jones was at the 5th Avenue Mall, police responded, located her and took her into custody.
