The last day to vote in the Special Municipal Election is Tuesday, August 7. Voters will choose which candidate will fill the West Anchorage Assembly seat left vacant after Tim Steele’s resignation.

As part of Election Day, the Municipal Clerk’s office will have food trucks at Election Center located at 619 East Ship Creek Avenue on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Election Center is also home to the Accessible Vote Center, one of the places ballots can be cast. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voters can also return their ballots by mail, as long as the envelopes are postmarked by August 7, or use a secure drop box. A map of drop box locations can be found here. There are no traditional polling places for this election.

Ballots that have already been returned are being processed at the Election Center and the public is welcome to watch as the ballots are processed.
