Alaska State Troopers are investigating a Saturday night assault in Wasilla in which at least one person was struck with a bat.

Troopers responded to a home on Brimstone Drive in Wasilla around 7:45 Saturday on reports of a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical assault.

Investigators determined one person was struck in the face with a bat. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

AST says one other person on the scene declined transport to the hospital, though details on their injuries was not made available.

All parties involved were contacted, troopers say, and at the conclusion of the investigation, the Palmer District Attorney's Office will review the case to determine charges.
