Suspect wanted in alleged bus stop beating
Anchorage Police say a man pushed, slapped and punched his girlfriend as she walked to a bus stop in late June. Now, police want the public's help finding 53-year-old suspect Gene Lee Martin.
Police say Martin was punching his girlfriend in the face to the point she thought she was going to pass out. When they got to the bus stop, Martin pushed the woman to the ground and then choked her until the bus showed up, according to police. Police say the woman got on the bus and took it to a medical facility, where police say she had visible injuries all over her body including bite marks.
Officers were unable to locate Martin and obtained a felony warrant for this arrest.
Anyone with information on where Martin might be is asked to call the non-emergency police dispatch number at 311 (choose option #1), or contact Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous at 561-STOP or online at www.anchoragecrimestoppers.com.
