A collision involving what appears to be a street-sweeper and a pickup truck closed a busy section of International Airport Road for about two hours Friday night.

Around 8:20 p.m., Anchorage Police sent an alert indicating all eastbound lanes of International Airport Road were closed between Minnesota and Jewel Lake. The closure is also affecting the onramp from Minnesota.

Police didn't have details on the vehicles involved in the collision, or how it occurred, on Saturday. An APD dispatcher said the road was reopened at about 10:20 p.m.; the crash was classified as an injury collision, with no word on how many people were hurt or how severely.

APD asked that motorists avoid the area until the scene was clear.
