Mount Marathon 2018: Mountain Scenes
It's 3022 feet up and another 3022 down. Sound footing is never guaranteed. Every muscle seems to be engaged and hurts more with each stride. There really is no single clear path to the top.
Descents get met with snow, shale rock and mud -- all loosened by each hiker and racer who got there first.
