Suspect vehicle found in Tudor Road hit-and-run
Anchorage Police say a juvenile was behind the wheel of the suspect vehicle that struck a woman attempting to cross Tudor Road Monday night.
Just before 11 p.m., APD released a statement saying the suspect vehicle, a 2006 Chrysler 300, was found in the 3200-block of Wolcott Circle. It was impounded as evidence.
APD said the driver was a female juvenile and is cooperating with investigators.
Police initially responded to the intersection of Tudor Road and Folker Street after a reported hit-and-run, just after 7:30, according to APD.
"The adult female pedestrian was crossing Tudor when she was struck; she has been transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries," police wrote. "The driver fled the scene."
Police say the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk when she was hit.
Westbound lanes of Tudor Road, between Piper Street and Laurel Road, were shut down for several hours while officers investigated.
No other information was immediately available including if the juvenile was arrested or charged with any crimes.
