A North Pole woman was severely injured early Wednesday morning in the crash of a pickup truck, according to Alaska State Troopers.

The single-vehicle rollover in which 28-year-old Erin Powers was hurt, on Badger Road in North Pole, was reported to troopers by Fairbanks police just after 4 a.m. according to an online dispatch.

“Powers was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra when she lost control on a curve and drove off the side of the road,” troopers wrote. “Investigation shows she over-corrected in an apparent attempt to return to the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times and Powers was ejected from the vehicle. Powers was not wearing a seat belt.”

Medics initially took Powers to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, troopers said, before she was medevaced to Anchorage for further treatment.
