A collision Wednesday morning near the Egan Center in downtown Anchorage temporarily slowed most traffic along 5th Avenue, police said.

APD reported that the right two lanes of 5th were closed by the crash, at 5th’s intersection with E Street, just before 9:30 a.m.

A black pickup truck and a taxi van were involved in the crash, with airbags deployed in the pickup truck.

Officers at the scene said the truck’s driver committed a red-light violation and struck the taxi van. Nobody was hospitalized in the crash, and all parties were cooperating with officers.

Lanes on 5th were being cleared by 10 a.m. Police announced that 5th was fully reopened just before noon.
