A pedestrian was struck Thursday evening and left with life-threatening injuries.

Around 7:15, Anchorage Police released a Nixle notifying motorists of lane closures on Gambell near 20th, in front of Sullivan Arena, due to a crash with injuries.

The collision involved a vehicle and one pedestrian, a male, who police say was walking in the street-- not on a sidewalk or in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, APD says.

His identity has not been released.

The driver will not be cited.

All lanes were opened by 9 p.m.
