AST searching Chena River for missing Fairbanks man
Alaska State Troopers are looking for a Fairbanks man who was last seen at his home on May 26.
Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said Thursday that efforts to find Attla on the river Wednesday were "inconclusive."
A welfare check was called in for 26-year-old Jerry Attla on May 31. His family was concerned they haven’t heard from him.
Tuesday evening, troopers were notified that some of Attla’s belongings were found near the Chena River off of Steelhead Road.
Troopers have been searching the area since Tuesday morning, Peters said.
A helicopter assisted in the search effort.
Attla is described as 5-foot-7-inches, 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
This is the second search near Fairbanks in recent weeks. A search for missing ATV rider Junior Leota, 27, was suspended late last month on the Chatanika River.
Anyone with information is asked to call troopers at 451-5100.
