Anchorage man accused in woman’s rape, assault
A man is facing several charges after being accused of raping and assaulting a woman back in May.
Court documents say Chadd Robert Moffett, Sr., 33, “recklessly caused serious physical injury to another person.”
A woman, who was staying with Moffett for three days to help take care of his children, is accusing him of rape and physical assault, court documents say.
She says she left his home after being twice raped and assaulted but returned a few hours later because she was concerned about leaving his children alone with him, according to the documents.
When the woman returned to the home, Moffett was just waking up and the children were not there, the documents say. He became angry and physically assaulted her, threatened to kill her, and said he “didn’t care if he went back to jail.”
Moffett and the woman got in the car to pick up his children, and the physical assault continued while the woman was driving—nearly causing an accident, the documents say.
They stopped for gas and the woman was able to use a phone to call for help at a nearby business.
The woman said Moffett was drinking at the time of the incident.
