A Sutton man who led Alaska State Troopers on a high-speed chase was arrested after spike strips were deployed on the Glenn Highway Monday night, authorities say.

Around 7:46, troopers spotted a white Buick car traveling 100-mph northbound on the Glenn Highway near Sutton, according to troopers' online dispatch. Troopers attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver took off to mile 69, going speeds between 60 to 105-mph.

"The vehicle completed a U-Turn returning southbound where AST successfully deployed spikes deflating two tires," troopers wrote. "The vehicle continued to mile 59 where the driver exited the vehicle and a short foot pursuit occurred before the driver surrendered."

Troopers identified the driver as Jeffrey Kudlacek, 26. He was arrested on felony eluding and felony DUI/refusal and held without bail.
