Alaska State Troopers say they were notified Monday morning of a death on the Big Susitna River.

Megan Peters, AST spokesperson, says the death reportedly occurred on the Big Susitna River near Flathorn Lake. 

Troopers responded and transported the deceased, who has not yet been identified, to the Deshka Landing, where it was turned over to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. 

The cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
